its always good to stay busy!
things here are going really well. i have started my classroom supervision, which has been okay. i dont really enjoy it and want to be doing other things instead. but hopefully i'll be able to wean myself off of that and convince my counterpart that i'm more beneficial to him doing other things. we'll see how that goes. maybe i'll end up enjoying classroom supervision the more i do of it..
this past week i was super busy...i went to the primary teachers college and they asked me if iw anted to teach math at the college. of course i said yes...so i'm super excited about that. the only problem is: classes start tomorrow and i still don't know what days or topics i'm supposed to cover. hopefully someone will get in touch with me so i have some sort of a clue about it.
in addition this week i facilitated my first workshop for teacher educators through my college. it went over really well and i'm happy about it. there were 30 attendees which was a good turnout and i went over the concept of a portfolio and how to put one together. they have to compile one by august and they were confused onthe topic. its amazing how something so simple and common in the states is so confusing here. i felt really good about it at the end though because i had about 6 or 7 people come up to me and personally thank me for holding the workshop because it really clarified the issue and they now see how simple it really is.
this past week i also put together a committee to help me with fixing up the resource center at my primary school. the committee has 9 members, all teachers at the P/s. we will be working together to make instructional materials and organizing what is there. i am really happy to have such a good team to help me with that task. needless to say, this past week was super busy and exciting and i have a lot ahead of me to do! :) i'm loving it!
there has been some headway on the house issue. the termites are still my roommates, but i have been shown another option. i wont' say too much about it at this poitn, but its a newer house and really nice. i am waiting on approval from my supervisor and the peace corps before anything will be finalized.
well i think i'll let you all go now. hope all is well. miss you all! kit.
ps: i am seriously trying to get pictures up sometime soon...hopefully within the next 2 weeks i'll have stuff up from the past 3 months! can you believe its been 3 months!!? i can't!
