mmmm....granola
well, another week down, and more to go! this week was another fabulous one. I have begun teaching at the college which really excites me. the year II students are learning statistics from me and the year I are learning set concepts. I am really enjoying the experience and I think the students are enjoy it too. they appear to be learning and enjoying it at the same time. my biggets challenges right now are time management (in lesson planning) and what to do with 150-200 students all about my age. i'll get there though.
i have been answering a lot of questions from the students regarding life in america and taboo topics. they seem more comfortable asking me these questions rather than a ugandan teacher. i like that they are comfortable with me as their teacher.
i was taken deep into the village around the colelge this week. it was nice talking with some locals and getting a feel for that particular village. its always a good feeling when people are happy that you can greet them in their language. i also really enjoy working withthe other teachers at the college. they are very interested in my input and are constantly asking me for my help. some of them even call me "engineer". i just chuckle to myself everytime i hear it! well i hope all is well! :) have a good one!

It's so nice to read your blog and completely identify with most of it even though we're in completely different settings :-) I finish training this week. Our LPI's are tomorrow and swearing-in is Friday. I'm glad things seem to be going so well for you!
Hi Amanda,
Don't know why I'm so far behind in reading your blog. I'm so happy for you! It really sounds like you're having fun with your work. Of course, we miss you lots. Had a great time at the beach on Sunday. Corina is too cute, looks just like O and she is unbelievably good. Not too much else. Take care & keep on having fun.
Love, Aunt Alyssa
