amazing...

so yea...things have been good.

today as i was riding into town i realized how amazing people here are...well i guess i didn't just realize it but it struck me again. i know i can never put it into words so you fully understand it, but i will try...

as i was leaving my village, a local man was digging in his garden...now this is the same man that fixes the bicycles for the locals...however this is nothing out of the ordinary...what is amazing is that this man has lost one of his legs....and it amazes me how he digs...i can't dig and i can stand without help...so he propped his smaller leg (for lack of a better term) on the handle of his crutch and was using his arms to dig...i mean i was in awe...

and then there was the usual for a morning out, the men pushing the bicycles uphill. whenever you see them they are going uphill...but they're not just bicycles...they are bicycles loaded down with bunches (like 7 on average) of bananas...those bananas can get heavy...so they walk for miles and hours to bring them to sell or to load on trucks so someone else can sell them...yea its amazing...

there are many other amazing things about uganda...so now i will talk about myself...because i am "somehow" amazing. :) things are good...i can't complain. i've lost 45 pounds and feel good, except for when my clothes are falling off my body, which happens regularly now..my cooking is also quite amazing....i made potato soup this week (because i was cold) and its better than what i would make at home.

other things that are amazing in uganda: everyone at home...and what i mean is i love the emails, letters, packages, phone calls and everything else that makes me realize that you love me and miss me as much as i do you :) they really make me happy...

craisins trail mix is amazing too...my mom sent it to me and yea it was good...you should try it :)

something that is not amazing, however, is the internet...maybe i'll have more luck in the near future with it and will be able to post more pictures. hope all is well.

i miss you all.
